WCSS SCU Successfully Held the Campus Asia Plus Symposium & University Immersion Program (UIP) 2024
The Campus Asia Plus Symposium & University Immersion Program (UIP) 2024, co-organized by West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University(WCSS SCU), and the Graduate School of Dentistry, Tohoku University, was successfully held from July 1 to 12, 2024. Under the co-chairmanship of Professor Ling Ye, vice president of Sichuan University, and Professor Ken Osaka, dean of Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry, the symposium featured more than 30 distinguished scholars, who delivered insightful lectures on the latest developments and cutting-edge issues in Oral and Maxillofacial studies. 11 world-famous universities joined this program, including King’s College London, Queen Mary University of London, University of California San Francisco, University?of?Washington?School?of?Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong, Tohoku University, Osaka Dental University School of Dentistry, Yonsei University, Seoul National University, Chulalongkorn University, Universitas Indonesia, and more than 300 students participated, hitting a record high.
The opening ceremony on July 1, 2024, was presided over by Professor Jiefei Shen, vice dean of WCSS SCU. Professor Ken Osaka and Professor Xianglong Han, vice dean of WCSS, delivered the welcome speech.
During the two-week program, more than thirty leading professors and scientists delivered well-designed courses on New discoveries and prospects of stomatology, Multidisciplinary perspective on comprehensive clinical cases in stomatology, Dentistry——Inovation forum of Asia Campus Plus, and Global Competence of Dentistry, to enhance the students’ clinical thinking and research capabilities. Additionally, The 2024 International Dental Student Hand Skills Competition was conducted, and a variety of cultural activities, such as visits to panda base and museums, exploration of Chengdu, and immersive cultural experiences in the West China Museum of Stomatology were organized.
The Campus Asia Plus Symposium & University Immersion Program (UIP), WCSS has been held for more than ten years, which strengthened mutual communication and collaboration with world-renowned overseas dental schools and academic institutions, injecting fresh momentum into sino-foreign cultural dialogues and academic exchanges.
