West China School of Stomatology passed through the Acceptance of "985 Project" Phase II Platform Construction
The "985 Project" Phase II "Biological mechanism and prevention of oral diseases" Science and Technology Innovation Ⅱ Platform Class was held in December 15, 2010 at West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University. The platform was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2004 which was aimed to heal serious oral diseases and to build State Key Laboratory of Oral Diseases. After 5 years of development, West China School of Stomatology has made great progress in scientific research, training, disciplinary construction and management mechanism and has successfully achieved all the objectives. The experts group was composed of Professor Wenyuan Shi (Leader of Group, University of California at Los Angeles), Associate professor Qin Yang (Washington University Cancer Research Center), Professor Qingyuan Wang, Professor Lin Zhang, Professor Hongwei Zhang, Professor Fang Chen, Professor Yan Li (Sichuan University) , to make strict evaluation on the activities report of the project. Based on the reports of Dean Xuedong Zhou, Expert panel recognized the outstanding performance and jobs that has been done by the West China School of Stomatology, SCU. And the experts group hope the "985" project can strengthen the further construction of this platform in order to build a world-class oral science research and clinical center.
