The Department of orthognathic and joint surgery in West China Hospital of Stomatology is one of the pioneers in modern orthognathic surgery and temporomandibular joint surgery, as well as cosmetic jaw surgery in China. In addition to the common oral and maxillofacial pathologies, we also focus on the surgical treatments of (1) developmental jaw abnormalities, including maxillary or mandibular protrusion, maxillary or mandibular retrognathia and facial asymmetry; (2) facial cosmetic problems, including hypertrophy of mandibular angle, prominence of zygomatic arch and deformities of nasal or chin; (3) maxillofacial fractures and secondary defects or deformities caused by maxillofacial tumor resection; (4) temporomandibular joint diseases, including joint disorders, joint injuries, joint ankylosis (mouth opening limitation) and joint tumors. We have advanced equipment for digital diagnosis and treatment, as well as a team of experienced experts in our department, which is at the world's leading level based on our skills in clinical diagnosis and treatment.
